Like the mystery of a poem that speaks of fundamental human concerns, art-making is my vehicle for sharing--straight from my heart--something that is real to me. Basically, through creative expression, I am able to say, "This is what it is to be me today--this is how I see it from my corner of the universe." I may be speaking out from the dark, the fog or the fire, but the creative dialogue continues. This mystical reality, that creative expression just doesn't quit, I discover over and over again. It seems that art aches to be born.

Because of my heritage, a long line of co-creators, I have witnessed the unstoppability of creative expression--the written word offered up, paintings drenched in color and hymns sung in thanksgiving for the awesome gift of life.
